    THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK

It  is  a  dark  time  for   the
Rebellion.  Although  the  Death
star    has   been    destroyed,
Imperial troops  have driven the
Rebel forces  from  their hidden
base  and  pursued  them  across
the galaxy.

Evading   the  dreaded  Imperial
Starfleet,  a  group  of freedom
fighters led by  Luke  Skywalker
has  established  a  new  secret
base  on  the  remote  ice world
of  Hoth.

The   evil  lord   Darth  Vader,
obsessed  with   finding   young
Skywalker,    has     dispatched
thousands of  remote probes into
the far reaches of space....

Hoth -- Plain

Luke:: Echo Three to Echo Seven. Han, old buddy, do you read me?; エコー3よりエコー7へ。ハンのおじさん、聞こえるかい？
Han:: Loud and clear, kid. What's up?; うるさいほどはっきり聞こえるぜ、坊主。どうした？
Luke:: I finished my circle. I don't pick up any life readings.; こっちの受け持ちは終わったよ。生命体の痕跡はまったくない。
Han:: There isn't enough life on this ice cube to fill a space cruiser. The sensors are placed. I'm going back.; こんな氷の塊に宇宙船に乗れるような生物がいるはずがねえんだ。
Luke:: Right. I'll see you shortly. There's a meteorite that hit the ground near here. I want to check it out. It won't take long.; そうだな。少ししたら落ち合おう。この近くに隕石が落下したんだ。そいつを調べようと思う。すぐ終わるよ。
Luke:: Steady. Steady, girl. What's the matter? You smell something?; 落ち着けよ。落ち着けってば。どうしたんだ？何か匂うのか？

Echo Base -- Main Hanger

Han:: Chewie. Chewie?; チューイー。チューイー？
Han:: All right. Don't lose your temper. I'll come right back and give you a hand.; わかったよ。そうカッカするな。すぐ戻って手伝ってやるから。

Echo Base -- Command Center

Rieekan:: Solo.; ソロか。
Han:: No sign of life out there, General. The sensors are in place. You'll know if anything comes around.; 生命体の兆候はなしですな、将軍。センサーを設置しておいた。何かがうろつけば分かるだろう。
Rieekan:: Commander Skywalker reported in yet?; スカイウォーカー中佐の報告はまだかね？
Han:: No. He's checking out a meteorite that hit near him.; さあ。あいつは近くに落ちた隕石を調べてる。
Rieekan:: With all the meteor activity, it's gonna be difficult to spot approaching ships.; これだけ隕石の落下が多いと宇宙船の接近を発見するのも大変だ。
Han:: General, I gotta leave. I can't stay anymore.; 将軍、そろそろ発とうと思う。これ以上はいられないんだ。
Rieekan:: I'm sorry to hear that.; それは残念だな。
Han:: There's a price on my head. If I don't pay off Jabba the Hutt, I'm a dead man.; 首に賞金が掛かっててね。ジャバ・ザ・ハットに返済しないと命が危ないんだ。
Rieekan:: A death mark's not an easy thing to live with. You're a good fighter, Solo. I hate to lose you.; 死の刻印を背負ったまま生きて行くのは容易じゃないからな。君はすばらしい戦士だ。失うのは残念だよ。
Han:: Thank you, General.; ありがとう、将軍。
Han:: Well, Your Highness, guess this is it.; さて、殿下、そういうことだ。
Leia:: That's right.; そのようね。
Han:: Don't get all mushy on me. So long, Princess.; せいぜい泣き崩れないでくれよ。じゃあな、お姫様。

Echo Base -- Corridor

Leia:: Han.; ハン。
Han:: Yes, Your Highnessness.; はい、殿下。
Leia:: I thought you had decided to stay.; ずっといてくれるものだと思ってました。
Han:: The bounty hunter we ran into in Ord Mantell changed my mind.; オード・マンテルで出くわした賞金稼ぎが心変わりをさせてくれたんだ。
Leia:: Han, we need you.; ハン、私たちはあなたを必要としています。
Han:: We need?; 私たちが？
Leia:: Yes.; ええ。
Han:: What about you need?; あんたはどうなんだ？
Leia:: I need? I don't know what you're talking about.; 私が？何を言っているのか分からないわ。
Han:: You probably don't.; 分かってないんだろうな。
Leia:: What precisely am I supposed to know?; 何なのかしら、私が正確に分かっておくべきことって？
Han:: Come on. You want me to stay because of the way you feel about me.; おいおい。あんたは俺のこと気になるからここにいてほしいと思ってるんだ。
Leia:: Yes. You're a great help to us. You're a natural leader.; ええ。あなたは私たちにとって大きな助けになります。真のリーダーよ。

3PO:: Don't blame me. I didn't ask you to turn on the thermal heater. I merely commented that it was freezing in the princess's chamber. It's supposed to be freezing. How we're going to dry her clothes I really don't know.; 私のせいにするんじゃない。サーモ・ヒーターを付けろと頼んだ覚えはないぞ。私はただ姫のお部屋が凍えそうに寒いと言っただけだよ。凍りそうなんだ。どうやって姫の服を乾かせばいいのか見当もつかないよ。

Han:: Why did you take this apart now? I'm trying to get us out of here.; どうしてこいつを分解しちまったんだ？ここから出て行くところなんだぞ。
3PO:: Excuse me.; 失礼します。
Han:: Put them back together right now.; さっさと元に戻せ。
3PO:: Might I have a word?; 一言よろしいでしょうか？
Han:: What do you want?; 何が望みだ？
3PO:: Princess Leia's been trying to get you on the communicator.; レイア姫があなたの通信機を呼び出そうとなさっていたのですが。
Han:: I turned it off. I don't want to talk to her.; 切ったんだ。話したくないんでね。
3PO:: Princess Leia is wondering about Master Luke. He hasn't come back. She doesn't know where he is.; レイア姫はルーク様を心配しておられます。まだ戻られていないのです。姫もルーク様がどちらにおられるのか存じておりません。
Han:: I don't know where he is.; 俺は知らんぞ。
3PO:: Nobody knows where he is.; どなたも存じ上げないのです。
Han:: What do you mean, nobody knows?; 誰もだと？どういう意味だ？

Han:: Do you know where Commander Skywalker is?; スカイウォーカー中佐はどこだ？
Tamizander:: I haven't seen him. It's possible he came in the south entrance.; 見ておりません。おそらく南の入り口から戻られたのかと。
Han:: It's possible? Why don't you go find out? It's getting dark out there.; おそらくだと？なぜ確かめないんだ？外はすぐ暗くなるぞ。

Tamizander:: Commander Skywalker hasn't come in the south entrance. Maybe he forgot to check in.; スカイウォーカー中佐は南の入り口からも戻られておりません。おそらくチェック漏れかと。
Han:: Not likely. Are the speeders ready?; それはないな。スピーダーの準備はどうだ？
Tamizander:: Not yet. We're having trouble adapting them to the cold.; まだです。極寒地対応でトラブルが発生しておりまして。
Han:: We'll have to go out on tauntauns.; トーントーンで行くしかないな。
Tamizander:: The temperature's dropping too rapidly.; 温度が急速に低下していますよ。
Han:: That's right, and my friend's out in it.; その通りだが友人が外にいるんだ。
Tamizander:: Your tauntaun will freeze before you reach the first marker.; 第一マーカーに到達する前にトーントーンは凍死してしまいます。
Han:: Then I'll see you in hell. Hah!; そのときは地獄で会おう。はっ！

3PO:: You must come along now, R2. There's really nothing more we can do. And my joints are freezing up.; さあ、一緒においで、R2。もうできることは何もないよ。関節が凍ってしまいそうだ。
3PO:: Don't say things like that. Of course we'll see Master Luke again. And he'll be quite all right. You'll see, stupid little short circuit. He'll be quite all right.; そんなことを言うもんじゃない。もちろんルーク様にはまた会えるさ。あのお方は元気にしてるよ。まあ見てなさいって、このショートした馬鹿なチビめ。あのお方なら大丈夫だ。

Alder:: Sir, all the patrols are in. Still no--Still no contact from Skywalker or Solo.; 全パトロール帰還しました。ただ・・・スカイウォーカーとソロからはまだ連絡がありません。
3PO:: Mistress Leia, R2 says he's been quite unable to pick up any signals. Although he admits that his own range is far too weak to abandon all hope.; レイア様、R2が申しますに、何のシグナルも受信できないそうです。しかし、彼の受信能力は低いのですべての望みを捨てられる必要はないかと思われます。
Derlin:: Your Highness, there's nothing more we can do tonight. The shield doors must be closed.; 姫、今夜はもう何もできません。シールド・ドアを閉めましょう。

Alder:: Yes, sir.; 了解しました。
3PO:: R2 says the chances of survival are 725-to-1 .; R2が申しますには生存確率は725分の1だそうです。
3PO:: Actually, R2 has been known to make mistakes...from time to time. Oh, dear. Oh, dear.; ただ、R2も間違うことはありますから・・・ときどきですが。ああ、嫌だ。嫌だ。

Luke:: Dagobah system?; ダゴバ星系？
Obi-Wan:: There you will learn from Yoda, the Jedi master who instructed me.; そこでヨーダから教えを受けるのだ。私を指導してくれたジェダイ・マスターだ。

Luke:: Dagobah system. Dagobah.; ダゴバ星系。ダゴバ。
Han:: This may smell bad, kid.; 匂いがひどいかもしれんがな、坊主。
Luke:: Yoda.; ヨーダ。
Han:: But it'll keep you warm...till I get the shelter up.; だが体を温めるんだ・・・シェルターを用意するまでな。

Han:: I thought they smelled bad on the outside.; 外だってのにひどい匂いだぜ。

Zev:: Echo Base, I've got something. Not much, but it could be a life-form.; エコー基地、何かを発見した。確かでないが生命体のようだ。

Zev:: Echo Base, this is Rogue Two. I've found them. Repeat. I've found them.; エコー基地、こちらローグ2。発見しました。繰り返す。発見しました。

3PO:: Master Luke, sir, it's so good to see you fully functional again.; ルーク様、再び完全に機能的なお姿を拝見できてうれしゅうございます。
Luke:: Thanks, 3PO.; ありがとう、3PO。
3PO:: R2 expresses his relief also.; R2も安堵しております。
Han:: How ya feelin', kid? You don't look so bad to me. You look strong enough to pull the ears off a gundark.; 気分はどうだ、坊主？悪いようには見えないな。ガンダークの耳を引きちぎるほどの力持ちに見えるぜ。
Luke:: Thanks to you.; 恩に着るよ。

Han:: Well, your Worship looks like you managed to keep me around for a little while longer.; ところで殿下、もうしばらく俺を足止めしようとしてるみたいだな。

Wyron:: It's metal.; 金属です。
Leia:: It couldn't be one of those creatures.; 原住生物ではなさそうね。
Han:: Could be one of our speeders.; 味方のスピーダーかもしれんぞ。
Wyron:: Wait. There's something very weak coming through.; 待って。非常に弱い通信が確認できました。
3PO:: Sir, I am fluent in six million forms of communication. This signal is not used by the Alliance. It could be an Imperial code.; みなさま、私は600万の通信手段に精通しております。このシグナルは同盟軍で使われているものではありません。帝国軍の暗号のようです。
Han:: It isn't friendly. Chewie, let's check it out.; まずいな。チューイー、調べに行こう。

Han:: I'm afraid there's not much left.; 跡形もなく吹っ飛んじまったよ。

Piett:: Admiral.; 提督。
Ozzel:: Yes, Captain?; 何だ、艦長？
Piett:: I think we've got something, sir. The report is only a fragment from a probe droid in the Hoth system, but it's the best lead we've had.; 何かを見つけたようです。ホス星系の探査ドロイドからの報告で断片的なものに過ぎませんが、これまでで最高の手がかりです。

Vader:: That is the system. And I'm sure Skywalker is with them. Set your course for the Hoth system.; この星系だ。スカイウォーカーもやつらと共にいる。ホス星系に進路を取れ。
Vader:: General Veers, prepare your men.; ヴィアーズ将軍、兵の準備をするのだ。
Veers:: Admiral.; 提督。

Echo Base -- Transport Bay

Valdez:: Groups Seven and 10 will stay behind to fly the speeders. As soon as each transport is loaded, evacuation control will give clearance for launch.; グループ7と10は後方に待機してスピーダーで飛び立て。各輸送船の荷積みが終わったら、直ちに脱出統制が発進の合図を行う。
Quien:: Right, sir.; 了解しました。

2-1B:: Sir, it will take quite a while to evacuate the T-47s.; 中佐、T-47の脱出にはかなりの時間を要します。
Luke:: Forget the heavy equipment. There's time to get small modules on the transports.; 重い荷物は捨てるんだ。先に小型モジュールから輸送船に運んでくれ。

Lock:: General, there's a fleet of Star Destroyers coming out of hyperspace in Sector Four.; 将軍、セクター4でスター・デストロイヤーの艦隊がハイパースペースを離脱しました。
Rieekan:: Reroute all power to the energy shield. We gotta hold them till all transports are away. Prepare for ground assault.; すべてのパワーをエネルギー・シールドに切り替えろ。すべての輸送船が逃げ切るまでやつらを食い止めるんだ。地上戦の準備をしろ。

Executor -- Vader's Chamber

Vader:: What is it, General?; 何だ、将軍？
Veers:: The fleet has moved out of light speed. ComScan has detected an energy field protecting an area of the sixth planet of the Hoth system. The field is strong enough to deflect any bombardment.; 艦隊は光速を脱しました。コムスキャンがホス星系の第6惑星にエネルギー・フィールドで守られているエリアを発見いたしましたので。フィールドはとても強力で爆撃は不可能です。

Vader:: You have failed me for the last time, Admiral.; 貴様に失望させられるのもこれで最後だ、提督。
Vader:: Captain Piett.; ピエット艦長。
Piett:: Yes, my lord?; はい、閣下？
Vader:: Make ready to land our troops beyond their energy field. And deploy the fleet so that nothing gets off the system. You are in command now, Admiral Piett.; 兵をエネルギー・フィールドの向こう側へ降ろす準備を整えろ。そして艦隊を展開し、何者も星系から逃すな。今からおまえが指揮を執れ、ピエット提督。

Leia:: All troop carriers will assemble at the north entrance. The heavy transport ships will leave as soon as they're loaded. Only two fighter escorts per ship. Cabbel:: Sir, Rebel ships are coming into our sector.; 艦長、反乱軍の船が我々のセクターへ向かってきます。

Dack:: Right now I feel I could take on the whole Empire myself.; いますぐこの手で帝国を叩きのめしてやりたい気分ですよ。

Callum:: We've spotted Imperial walkers.; 帝国軍のウォーカーが見えるぞ。
Officer:: Imperial walkers on the north ridge.; 北の山稜に帝国軍ウォーカー発見。

Hoth -- Plain
